Karl Kling was a German racing driver who had a short but illustrious career during the 1940s and 1950s, being a member of the famous Mercedes' Silver Arrows team and taking part in eleven Formula One Grand Prix races in 1954 and 1955. The oldest living Grand Prix driver for some while until his death, he made a return to the Formula 1 paddock at the Nurburgring to compare his Mercedes with then occupants of the 1996 spec, Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard.
